Want to exhibit at Gallery North West?
a contemporary art gallery in beautiful Cumbria.
An Art Gallery for all.
Gallery North West is an independent contemporary art gallery in the small market town of Brampton, Cumbria, nine miles east of Carlisle. The gallery is located close to Hadrian’s Wall, the Scottish Borders, Galloway, the Eden Valley, and English Lake District, so it should be no surprise that we have a wealth of artistic talent to call upon.
The Brampton Gallery is positioned in the town centre, above the well-established Castle Framing and Gallery on Front Street. Although separate enterprises, the two businesses combine to provide superb gallery space on both street and first-floor levels, with the added bonus of a high-quality framing and print service on hand.
Renovation of the upper level - including fitting state-of-the-art lighting -was completed in January 2023, and now offers both artists and customers superb exhibition space.
Our ethos
A gallery that operates in the heart of a rural but highly artistic community, should by default support local art, creators, and emergent makers, shine a spotlight on talented established artists, and enhance the cultural landscape of our region.
With its existing arts and crafts venues, antique barns, coffee shops and delicatessens, Brampton is already developing as an artistic hub. Gallery North West aims to further enhance this process and strengthen the network with other local hubs. These include Tullie House museum and art gallery in Carlisle and, closer still, Hallbankgate and Lanercost Priory – each venue with its own busy artistic events calendar and café.
What do we offer
Gallery North West offers art buyers quality and variety within a welcoming gallery space. Getting to know the artists we represent is important to build long-term relationships.
Besides our original paintings, Gallery North West has an exciting range including sculpture, ceramics, woodturning, jewellery, textiles, and glass.
We work hard to provide a high-quality professional service for our artists, and, as the list of talent joining us grows, we aim to become a major art venue for the Carlisle region.
Accessibility:
The lower gallery is at street level, however, access to the first-floor galleries is by staircase only. We have produced a 3D Virtual Gallery walkthrough which will be available to view on a tablet.
