David Lush
David gained an MA in Creative Practice at the University of Cumbria in 2021. His work has been showcased at the Forty Farms and Great Print exhibitions at Rheged.
A qualified teacher with an interest in alternative photographic processes such as cyanotype and Vandyke printing. A variety of media including coloured pencils, ink, acrylics, and gouache are used to create work exploring aspects of the natural world. He is particularly drawn to River Gelt and the Eden Valley scenery.
David’s illustration work incorporates people, landscapes, buildings, and animals to convey visual narratives through the medium of the graphic novel. These stories explore the importance of particular communities for those people who belong to them.
