Hazel Campbell RSW

Hazel Campbell has lived and worked in Galloway for most of her adult life, and through attendance at painting classes over a number of years she has developed her own vigorous style of painting. She has a loose, bold approach, working mainly in oil and gouache, using local Galloway countryside as a stimulus for landscape painting. Still life and flowers are also subjects, and like the landscapes, are being treated in an increasingly broad manner.

Hazel runs painting schools in her studio in Castle Douglas. Painting for Pleasure was established in 1998 and has gone from strength to strength with many students returning each year. Great attention is paid to your individual needs, therefore class sizes are kept to a minimum. Regardless of your level or ability, Hazel will encourage you to develop you own personal ‘style’. Or, if you prefer a little ‘space’ while painting then there are plenty of areas available to work alone. In fine weather, classes include excursions where you can draw inspiration from fine beaches and picturesque villages, all offering an endless variety of scenery.
